Vendège is a musical project that embraces a handcrafted, organic and quietly experimental approach to pop songwriting. Led by Thibault Marchal and joined by long-time collaborator Doriane Ayxandri as well as his brothers Tom and Mathéo, the group works like sound-sculptors: recording, reshaping and recomposing acoustic textures into songs that drift between minimalist and delicate folktronica, atmospheric ambient music and transcendent post-rock.
Influences range from Múm to Sigur Rós, yet the identity remains singular—both intimate and expansive. While much of the music is soft-spoken and textural, the live show also features energetic electronic moments, vivid rhythmic patterns and passages of unexpected power.
For the Japan tour, Vendège presents a special “Pocket Instrument” version of the project: mini electric guitars, compact samplers, pocket synths, rhythm boxes and effect pedals replace the usual cellos, drums and larger instruments. This creates a unique, transportable setup that retains the emotional core of the project while bringing a new, vibrant and inventive energy to the stage.
