スコット・ハンター / ロバート・ヴァン・クーズヴェルド「Gestures of Place | 場所のジェスチャー」

Art Spot Korinでは、2024年4月16日(火)よりスコット・ハンター(Scott Hunter)とロバート・ヴァン・クーズヴェルド(Robert van Koesveld)による写真展を開催いたします。

展覧会について：

静寂で瞑想的なイメージを通し、2人の写真家の独創的なアプローチを組み合わせ、人類と風景の刻々と変化する時間性との間の深い対話を捉えています。
英国に拠点を置くスコット・ハンターは、人間と環境の間の複雑な関係の探求に深く取り組んでいます。彼の写真作品は、自然界における人間以外の存在を記録することで、人間中心主義に異議を唱えています。科学の知識を元に、彼は、水、土、岩、そして生きている世界の相互関係を伝えようと努めています。
心理療法を背景に持つオーストラリアの写真家、ロバート・ヴァン・クーズヴェルドは、写真が個人的な抽象化と現実への反応として機能し、ある瞬間を凝縮するという概念を探求しています。
彼の、存在と永遠性への探求は、過去と現在、個人と典型、神聖と日常の間の交差点をナビゲートします。
2019年のKG+での会合以来、アーティストたちはハンターの科学的アプローチと、ヴァン・クーズヴェルドの直感的なアプローチの間には、探究する価値のある類似点があることに気づきました。
彼らの共同作品は、私たちの世界理解を形作る力を捉え、見る人に万物の相互関連性について考えるよう促します。

combines the distinct approaches of two photographers through quiet, contemplative imagery to capture a profound dialogue between humanity and the ever-shifting temporalities of the landscape.
Based in the UK, Scott Hunter is deeply committed to exploring the complex relationships between humans and the environment. His photographic works challenge anthropocentrism by documenting non-human agencies in the natural world. Informed by science, he seeks to convey the interconnectedness of water, soil, rocks, and the living world.
With a background in psychotherapy, Australian photographer Robert van Koesveld explores the concept that photographs serve as personal abstractions and responses to reality, encapsulating a moment in time.
His exploration of presence and timelessness navigates the intersections between past and present, the personal and archetypal, and the sacred and everyday.
Since meeting at KG+ in 2019, the artists recognised parallels between Hunter’s scientific and van Koesveld’s intuitive approaches worth exploring.
Combined, their collaborative works capture the forces that shape our understanding of the world and invite viewers to consider the interconnectedness of all things.
