Stories of a frog in a field / 畑のカエルの物語

芸術的実践は、どのように地（自然）と結びつけることができるでしょうか?

私たちはカエルをどのような意識で見ているのでしょうか？

今回開催する共同展示「畑のカエルの物語」は、人間以外の生き物を観察し、考慮する方法をさまざまな形で検討することを一つの目的とし、私たちが普段研究している視覚的文化と生態教育学に関連する知識から生まれたものです。

ロアナ・ガッティとジュリエット ・ペネロペ・ ペパンの一連の作品を組み合わせたこの共同展示では、農業および農耕地と生態系の関わりについての研究–アグロエコロジー、動物間におけるコミュニケーションの研究–動物記号学、そして人間以外の生き物を生態系の中心に配置するなど、現代懸念されているいくつかの問題に加え、人間とそれらを取り巻く自然や生き物との関係性も言及しています。

二人が様々な手法–インタビュー、版画、研究、ミクスト メディアのインスタレーションなどで制作した作品を組み合わせました。

「畑のカエルの物語」を開催するもう一つの目的は、緊急時に世界に存在する方法を楽しく議論しながら、カエルや自然とつながるさまざまな方法を提案することです。

How can practices be tied to the ground? How do we look at frogs? Drawing its title from knowledge related to visual culture and critical ecological pedagogy, Stories of a frog in a field is a duo exhibition which considers different ways of observing and caring for other-than-human ecosystems. Bringing together a public program and a series of works from Loana Gatti and Juliette Pénélope Pépi n, the exhibition refers to several contemporary concerns such as agroecology, zoosemiotics and the repositioning of the other-than-human as a central actor of our environment. Combining interviews, prints, research extracts and a mixed media installation, the exhibition refle cts the singular approaches the two artists deploy in their practice. Stories of a frog in a field propose different ways of connecting to frogs and fields while joyfully discussing ways of being in the world in times of urgency. Participants in the public program include artists Anna Stallone, Kohei Maeda for the Takasegawa mon Itoring club and Haesoo Jeong. This exhibition was motivated by the meeting between Loana Gatti and Juliette Pénélope Pépin during Their research fellowships at the ICA Kyoto in 2022.
