“Learn Science through Graphics: The Story of Evolution” consists of works designed by students of the Visual Design course at Kyoto City University of Arts. These students read scientific books on the evolution of living things and created their designs to communicate what they had learned to children in middle to upper elementary school. The works on exhibit designed by the students cover a wide range of media, such as games, visuals, and picture books.
Scientific knowledge must be conveyed accurately. Written explanations, illustrations, and photographs must be precise. What the students have added in their effort to teach children about evolution is a story in some form or another.
A great deal of beautiful, fun, and enlightening information can be gleaned from the students’ works and the Modern Educational Wallcharts.
